Out into the archipelago – experiences from Rørvik
From Kleiva Camping, you are literally in the middle of one of Norway's most spectacular archipelagos. With thousands of islands, islets, and skerries on every side, Rørvik invites you to wonderful days on and by the sea – whether you're seeking deep tranquillity or the great coastal adventure.
Experience the archipelago up close:
- Kayaking and paddling: The Namdalen coast is a paradise for paddlers. You can put your kayak out in calm lagoons, or head towards Abelvær and the chalk-white sandy beaches there. Local operators such as Explore Ytre Namdal offer guided tours and courses, which make for a fantastic and safe experience for the whole family.
- Join a trip on the open sea: If you want to experience real sea fishing without having to steer the boat yourself, there are opportunities to join local fishing boats and vessels out on the water. You can often borrow equipment, and the local skippers know exactly where the fish are.
- Island-hopping to Leka: Spend one of your days visiting Leka – Norway's National Geological Monument. It takes just under an hour to drive north from Rørvik to the ferry at Gutvik. Leka offers a unique, reddish moon-like landscape unlike anything else in all of Europe.
After a long day out on the waves or along the coastal roads, it's especially nice to come "home" to Kleiva Camping for a quiet evening.
